Char Baxter Communications Platinum Sponsor of Georgia Technology Celebration

ATLANTA, GA, September 15, 2003-Char Baxter Communications has been named a platinum sponsor of the Georgia Technology Celebration set for October 21, 2003, at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta.

A showcase of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the Celebration will gather the state's technology stars from past and present and will spotlight the contribution Georgia's technology industry has made to the state and the nation.

"Given the number of technology companies that have been their clients, not just in Georgia but nationally and internationally, it's fitting that Char Baxter and her team will be working with us to promote the Celebration across Georgia, and we are delighted to have them aboard," said John Yates, Celebration chairman and leader of the law firm Morris, Manning & Martin's technology group. "In addition to chairing our Public Relations and Advertising Committee, Char has graciously agreed to contribute her agency's time and talent to make the event a success."

The agency's contribution is well above the value of a platinum level sponsorship, according to Mark Estes, director of business strategy for Char Baxter Communications and co-chair of the Celebration's PR and Advertising Committee. "We are providing not only strategic assistance in planning the Celebration and seeing it is promoted properly, but also participating in many of the tactics-the writing, design, interactive and public relations work that goes into launching an ambitious undertaking like this one," Estes said. "Best of all, we are helping build excitement within the technology community, and anticipation among veterans and newcomers alike that this is an event not to be missed."

The Atlanta-based branding, marketing and public relations agency is spearheading the development of the Celebration's giant timeline, a chronicle of the growth of the technology industry in Georgia, and the role local companies, entrepreneurs and investors have played in it. "We're helping position the Celebration for what it is-a recognition of the tremendous contribution the technology industry in Georgia has made, not only to the growth of our state, but also to the evolution of technology in the U.S. and around the world," said Char Baxter, CEO of the agency. "But the event is more about looking forward than looking back, and that's what excites me most. It's a chance to build momentum, to explore new opportunities for Georgia to leverage its positions as one of the top 10 technology hot spots in the country."

The firm is one of the first creative agencies in Georgia to specialize in technology, and one of many technology-related companies founded by Atlantans who began their careers with MSA, the first and largest business-to-business applications software company in the world. Baxter spent 13 years with the company before founding Char Baxter Communications in 1991.
