ATLANTA—(April 9, 2004)—Char Baxter, CEO of Char Baxter Communications, was recently nominated for the 2004 Woman of the Year in Technology Award, sponsored by the Technology Association of Georgia. John Yates, chair of the technology group for the Atlanta law firm Morris, Manning & Martin, made the nomination for this prestigious award. Letters in support of Yates' nomination were submitted by Ed Trimble, CEO, EzGov; Don House, former executive vice president of MSA and founder of SQL Financials (now Clarus Corporation); and Barbara Stafford, principal, Georgia Technology Interests.
"As founder, CEO and executive creative director of Char Baxter Communications, Char has successfully led the firm and its clients through the upticks and downturns of the technology industry for more than a decade, helping nearly 100 companies-many of them based in Georgia-forge their identities in the marketplace and realize significant value from an investment in branding," said Yates in making the nomination. "It is her contribution to the success of these companies that qualifies Char Baxter to be 2004 Woman of the Year in Technology."
"Not only has she been a tremendous help to companies like EzGov through the branding work that is her firm's specialty, but she also has made an incredible difference donating her time and talent to the community itself," said Trimble in his letter, acknowledging Char's leadership in the 2003 Georgia Technology Celebration.
Said House, "[Baxter] not only understands the technology industry and has a 'head' for business, she also demonstrates the remarkable flexibility required of a strong entrepreneur and businessperson. She is as dedicated to the field of high technology as anyone I know."
"The variety of her client base affirms Char's depth and breadth of expertise, as well as her flexibility in putting together branding programs that work, regardless of a company's size technology product or service," added Stafford.
