November 29, 2000 — Atlanta, GA — Mike Coleman has been appointed vice president of charbaxter.communications, an Atlanta-based creative agency providing integrated advertising and marketing services to technology-focused companies.
"This is an opportunity to recognize Mike's years of outstanding creative contribution and the international reputation for excellence he has helped us achieve," said Char Baxter, CEO of charbaxter.communications. "Mike has been instrumental in our agency's dramatic growth over the past few years, and as vice president he takes a lead role in ensuring our creative team–established and new members alike–continues to produce the quality work we've been known for since our founding almost 10 years ago."
Joining the agency as senior writer, Mike helped the firm's earliest clients, including SAP America and Deloitte Consulting Group, build a strong market presence in North America through powerful brand positioning. In 1998, he was appointed director of the agency's editorial team, leading the writing effort in print and Web-based creative projects, and helping develop integrated brand strategies for a wide range of clients, including companies preparing for an IPO and startups in Atlanta's growing technology community.
"Mike's work has helped our agency win numerous awards through the years, from organizations like the International Association of Business Communicators and–most recently-dual awards from PRINT magazine," said Baxter. "But it's the kudos he's received from clients that means the most to us. He's been vital to the success of our agency, helping us grow the kind of relationships that keep clients coming back to charbaxter.communications."
Before joining the agency, his professional experience included award-winning newspaper reporting, corporate communications management, and published work in numerous national and international publications.
"It's always been an honor to be part of charbaxter.communications," he said. "Char has built an organization that thrives on innovation, that isn't afraid to take clients to the creative edge for the sake of building a brand that gains mindshare and marketshare, while at the same time backing the creative with sound business sense and experience in the technology industry that is unparalleled. I look forward to helping lead the agency as our dynamic growth parallels the dynamic growth of the technology industry–here in Atlanta and around the world. To my mind, no other field presents as great a challenge to the creative team, or as much satisfaction when the work is done right."
