Clear Communications Group Reinvents Itself As o2wireless Solutions
August 30, 2000 — Atlanta, GA — Clear Communications Group, a leading provider of integrated network solutions to the telecommunications industry, today announced the launch of a branding campaign centered around its new identity as o2wireless Solutions, Inc. The new name and positioning strategy are the work of charbaxter.communications, a national advertising agency based in Atlanta, and coincide with o2wireless' recent IPO.
"You wouldn't usually expect an advertising agency to be so skilled in naming companies," said Stephen F. Johnston, Sr., chairman and CEO of o2wireless Solutions. "But it's one of charbaxter.communications' strengths. With the agency's unparalleled expertise in the technology industry, they nailed the right positioning for us right away." Headquartered in Atlanta, o2wireless provides integrated network solutions to all sectors of the global telecommunications industry--from wireless and broadband carriers to equipment vendors and tower companies.
"o2wireless is already at the future of wireless communications," said Char Baxter, CEO of charbaxter.communications. "Its integrated, end-to-end network services help companies breathe easy in a rapidly changing marketplace, giving them the ability to keep pace with change, to gain freedom from the restraints of old technology and processes, and to do it safely and securely. That's the value proposition we wanted the new name to convey."
As part of the integrated campaign, charbaxter.communications developed a new logo for o2wireless, a deep blue and gold circle that looks as if it was quickly sketched on paper. "The logo suggests rapid movement, and speaks to the fact that our services are full-circle, end-to-end," said Mark Pulda, marketing coordinator for o2wireless. "Paired with our new name, it makes quite an impact, and conveys what our company's all about in a clear, memorable way."
charbaxter.communications also developed a new web site, www.o2wireless.com, an integrated print and direct mail advertising campaign, and a complete collateral kit. "Every deliverable we provide is geared toward reinforcing o2wireless' market position as the next-generation leader in the telecommunications industry, building on its reputation as an established company with a record of success," said Baxter. "Working with Johnston and his team was a pleasure, because they gave us great creative freedom, and welcomed our ideas with eyes on the future, not the past."
