Agency's Work Chosen Among the Nation's Best in PRINT Magazine Competition
July 20, 2000 — Atlanta, GA — charbaxter.communications, a national advertising agency based in Atlanta, has received two Certificates of Design Excellence from PRINT magazine. The award-winning work will be featured in PRINT's prestigious Regional Design Annual 2000. PRINT is widely regarded as America's leading graphic design publication. Its Design Annual features the best design, illustration and photography from every state in the U.S. More than 32,000 entries were considered for the 2000 edition.
"We're delighted PRINT has honored our design team with these awards," said Char Baxter, CEO of charbaxter.communications. "Our clients already know our work is groundbreaking–but it's always nice to be recognized by fellow design professionals, too. And we're especially proud of the two members of our team whose work was chosen." They are Philip Park, associate creative director for the agency, and Jim Slatton, senior art director.
Park designed a corporate brochure for SocketPR, an Atlanta-based public relations firm that specializes in the high tech industry. The brochure was part of a new branding strategy charbaxter.communications developed for the firm.
Slatton won honors for his design of a corporate kit for Hyperwave Information Management, Inc., an international firm providing portal-accessed knowledge management software applications. The kit was part of a North American market launch that focused on branding the firm through integrated web site, collateral and direct mail campaigns created by charbaxter.communications.
Slatton's design for Hyperwave took first place earlier this year in the CTI National Paper Design Competition. For Park, the PRINT award is the latest of many honors he has received during his career, including International Print Finalist in the 1997 Cannes Advertising Festival, and a silver at the Korean National Advertising Festival in 1998. PRINT's Regional Design Annual 2000 will be published in September.
